Beautiful Los Melonares

About Los Melonares

For the travelling sportsman Los Melonares is a true oasis in the Sierra Norte de Sevilla – a short drive on country roads from the beautiful city of Seville.

The 1400 ha Finca is well served by natural springs, forming two river valleys which never dry up. There is an abundance of exotic plants and trees which grace this true sporting paradise. Wild boar and red deer freely roam the country and are often seen on partridge shooting days, together with many exotic bird species attracted by the water.

Location

Finca Los Melonares lies in a remote rural setting in the heart of Sierra Norte de Sevilla, approximately 30 miles due North of Seville, between Puebla Castilblanco de los Arroyos and a large reservoir, Emblase Los Melonares.

The Lodge enjoys commanding views over the estate, distant Sierras to the East and the reservoir to the North.

The shooting area

The shooting area is accessed by 4wd vehicles and the steep sided river valleys provide the ideal topography for showing really sporting partridges.

The ongoing development of drives in El Muro (The Wall) ravine will test even the most accomplished shots.

Accommodation

Charming and traditional accommodation decorated in classic style. Each of the 18 bedrooms (12 in the main house and 6 in the family house) has an en-suite bathroom. The reception rooms are spacious and furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs. There is also a billiard table and handsome library. The dining room seats 16 guests in comfort and on fine evenings dinner can be enjoyed outside in the walled garden under the palm trees.

Guests are very welcome to extend their stay at the extremely comfortable private Finca including the night after their last day of sport which adds considerably to the enjoyment of a 2 day shoot. The Lady owner is a most genial hostess with a fund of anecdotes from her adventures with both shotgun and rifle.
